So, who is A.M Croft? Well firstly, my full name is Adam Michael Croft, I was born in 1983, I am an Aquarius, the oldest of two Sons, and originate from a town near Chester in the United Kingdom.
Like most boys from the area my first love was football (or soccer if you must from the USA), and I a keen Everton fan, supporting the Toffees through thick and thin (mostly thin!) since I can remember.
After leaving school at 16, having tired of the academic format, I joined the Armed Forces, and spent the next 5 years travelling the UK and overseas serving my Country. During this time I served during the 2nd Iraq War, and grew to gain an understanding of what made a soldier tick, what was required to survive in hostile conditions, and also the resilience of the human body and mind.
After leaving the Army I moved to Suffolk and ventured into the world of Mergers & Acquisitions, a far cry from a life of a soldier, but this platform gave me an opportunity to flex my mind, learning the complicated dynamics of acquisitions and disposals, dealing with companies worth millions of pounds and selling to corporate organisations with turnovers ranging into the billions. This time of my life has given me insight into peoples psychology and to a greater extent what factors contribute and fuel greed, resentment and on the other side accomplishment and success.
Recently I have had the privilege of becoming a father, to my wonderful Son, Adison. Now well into his 2nd year, he is quite the handful, but witnessing the wonder of the world through a child's eyes is truly an unique opportunity and one I embrace every day.
Over the last three years I have dabbled with writing my first novel; a story I have had locked within my mind since I was a child, but resisting putting pen to paper due to my lack of self confidence, belief and time.
Once I started the journey the story evolved faster than I could have anticipated, the creative juices flowed and from what I envisaged being a 30,000 word story, flourished to in excess of 250,000.
I am now at the stage when the first step of my journey is reaching completion, soon I will be a published author, and then the real work begins. :-)
Thank you for visiting and good to meet you all, I hope to interact with each and every one of you in the future, and finally wish you luck to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.
Adam
